Historic Building Hits Landmarking snag

After three separate historic preservation groups cited the Berwyn Western Heating and Plumbing building at 7100 Cermak Road as a historically significant piece of architecture, the Berwyn Historic Preservation Commission put forth a nomination to designate the building as a Berwyn Historic Landmark.  At its October 23, 2012 meeting, however, the Berwyn City Council, however, voted 7-1, to deny the nomination.  Read More.

PCC South Family Wellness Center at 6201 West Roosevelt Road combines historic preservation, innovative design, and green building in a newly renovated furniture showroom, which now serves as a cutting edge medical clinic, at the corner of Roosevelt Road and Lombard Avenue.  The building, nominated by its owner, PCC CEO, Robert Urso, was designated a Berwyn Historic Landmark by Berwyn's City Council on August 28, 2012.
